Browser X & POPPRISIM Web Browser Roku Channels
POPPRISIM Web Browser and Browser X are two channels that sort of let you surf the Web on Roku
Unlike Android, which has several excellent Web browsers like Chrome, Firefox, Dolphin or Opera. There really is no full featured Web browser available on Roku
While you won't find Chrome, Firefox or Opera on Roku, here are three ways to use a limited Web browser on Roku.
POPPRISIM Web Browser Roku Channel
This is a nothing more than an experimental proof of concept text based Web browser Roku channel. It has limited functionality and will let you only read text on the web without showing images or videos.Because there is so much more to a good Web browser than showing only text, this channel may not be all that useful. But you can add it as public Roku Channel and test it out for free.
Add POPPRISIM Web Browser
Web Browser X
Don't get your hopes up, this is not a browser for watching adult movies on Roku. It is a paid Roku channel though which costs .99/month. And it will let you browse your favorite websites right on your Roku. But unlike what you may be used to on a PC or mobile device. This channel works a little different from a real browser. Because it's really more like mirroring the content from another server and than casting this onto your Roku then storing content directly on your Roku.
With Browser X some web pages load up and look very nice. And yet other pages look downright clunky. While Browser X may replace the look and feel of a real Web browser on Roku. To a certain extent it gets the job done.
Add Browser X
Casting and Mirroring
Ultimately, this is the best solution for watching content like KODI or certain Websites which can only truly be watched from a PC or mobile device on your Roku.Casting and mirroring will let you play a movie or show the screen that is playing on your mobile device's screen and then play the same content right on your television.
There are several apps and Roku Channels that will all pretty much accomplish the same thing. And it it's a two part process.
1.First it requires a casting App on your Apple, Android or PC device.
2. And then you need the corresponding channel to be installed on your Roku.
3. Finally, it requires a Roku that is compatible with mirroring and casting. Pretty much any new Roku will work. Some older models may not be compatible with casting or mirroring content to Roku.
These are several apps and channels that will allow you to cast Web sites, movies or even apps like Kodi to your Roku
