Add this Chrome Extension and Cast to Roku Without an App or Channel Right From a Web Browser!
Watch live TV from USTVNow or Web Videos from popular Android or iOS Apps Right on Your Roku
The Roku R-Cast channel works together with an app you install on an iOS or Android phone or Tablet. Then when you start playing a movie on or live TV show on your device, it can then be Cast to the corresponding R-Cast Roku channel. And it can then be directly on Roku.
This is handy for several reasons. It's an easy way to play any playlists you may have created with your favorite content from a NAS or from one found online.
It's also a great way to play live streams from sites like USTVNow, or Puffer. Which let you watch free Network channels from a computer web browser or on mobile devices.
R-Cast Limitations
The R-Cast Roku channel is free to install and use. The app is also free to install on your Android or iOS devices. The free R-Cast app has a limitation of 10 minutes before videos time out. And then the video stops and requires an upgrade to the paid RADICAL Edition. Which has no time limitations.
This is enough time to fully try out the app though to make sure it works. The ten minute limit only applies to watching content on Roku. There is no limit for how long it can be used on a mobile device. Although the ads will be displayed at the bottom of the app until it is upgraded to the RADICAL Edition. The upgraded version can also save and resume casts.
How Much Does the R-Cast RADICAL Edition Cost?
The full RADICAL Version without limitations is only a one time payment of three dollars. We highly recommend to first try the free version and make sure it works fine with the content that you plan on casting to your Roku.
There are issues with some Roku models. And newer more powerful Roku models work better with casting than older models. Some video formats are incompatible and won't play on Roku no matter which casting app that's used.
