Apple TV OS 15.1.1 Now Available for Apple TV Owners
Unlike the prior release, which included Shareplay that now lets Apple TV users share what they are playing with friends and family on AirPlay. This latest update for Apple TV does not come with any information on what's in it. More than likely, it includes security updates or bug fixes introduced with a prior software updates.

If your Apple TV is newer, it will support the latest update. These models are all supported.
- Apple TV HD
- Apple TV 4K (2017)
- Apple TV 4K (2021)
How to Manually Force an Apple TV OS Update
If auto updates are enabled, your Apple TV should automatically update by itself. Usually at night during a period when it's not being used. But you can force it to check to see if an update is available by going to System -> Software Updates. Then wait a few seconds for it to check if an update is available for your device. If it shows there is one, click on ‘Download and Install’ and the update will install.
Depending on the type of update, this may take several minutes to load. And your device may reboot automatically. It's very important not to interrupt or unplug your Apple TV during the update process once it's started. Wait until it's finished and you are back on the home screen.
