Here's an easy way to beat the supply chain shortage and find anything you need at a great price
Beat the Supply Chain Shortage
With many ships waiting outside California ports to unload their goods, many store shelves remain empty. Th supply chain shortage has caused a lot of angst for shoppers this holiday shopping season.
Shopping online is one way to avoid empty shelves. But even many of the major online retailers are facing a supply crunch as well. Leaving long delivery times or out of stock notices on many websites.
eBay is still a great one stop shopping location to find everything you can imagine. It's also a place where you can score exceptional deals on barely used, open box, discontinued or brand new items. Often for a fraction of the price of retail outlets.
How to score great deals on eBay
For finding incredible deals on popular products, eBay rocks. But when shopping on eBay, you need to know a couple of tips that can save you a lot of money.
1. Setup eBay filters. Set the filters to show you the lowest price with shipping to your location. This will show you all items listed from the least expensive to most expensive shipped directly to your door. Many items even include free shipping.
Adjust your filters as shown in the pictorial above to search for an item from the lowest price to the highest with shipping.
2. Always check the feedback of the seller. Avoid new sellers with zero feedback, no matter how good the deal may seem. Choose sellers with a high reputation score around 98% or higher. Many eBay sellers are hard-working, honest people who work very hard to keep their feedback score high. And they often provide better service than some big box stores or major online resellers like Amazon if there is ever an issue.
Use Sniping Tools To Win eBay Auctions
When bidding on an item that you really want, waiting until the last few seconds to bid will land you a better deal. The last thing you want is to get into a bidding war which will raise the price beyond what you want to pay. Waiting until the last several seconds of an auction will let you have the last bid. The trick to winning is placing your bid higher than the next minimum bid.
Sometimes, if there are no other bids, you may win an auction for a ridiculously low price. But if you see several other bidders that have bid on an item, set your sniping bid several dollars higher than the previous bid. This also helps win auctions at the last second.
You can automate this process with the use of eBay sniping software like EZ Sniper for PC or Powesnipe for Mac. These are apps you can set up on your PC or Mac that will make a bid at a pre-determined time. This way, you can bid on items any time even while asleep at the last few seconds of an auction.
Set a Filter for eBay Buy It Now Items
Buy It Now is a great way to find instant deals on eBay items without needing to bid or wait for an auction to end. Using the filters above, there is one more step you need to do to search for only Buy It Now items. This filters out any auctions which require a bid.
Set this filter on the left side of the page. Check the Buy It Now box. You can also filter by price, condition, and locations nearby. Another trick to finding great deals on Buy It Now eBay items is to set a filter from lowest price to Newly Listed. Then bookmark the page and simply refresh it each time you visit to check for newly listed items.
Carefully Read the Sellers Item Description
It's easy to get excited and quickly bid or buy an item you find at a great price. But often sellers will put important information in the description which is easily overlooked. Like the item may miss a box, important parts, or it may have some damage you need to be aware of. So always pay close attention to the item description to be sure you are getting what you want with no surprises.
