How to Use the Stanford Cable TV News Analyzer
This web tool uses advanced algorithms which can help you find popular news videos on topics of interest by simply adding a few search parameters.
When you visit news analyzer website, you will notice the words already filled in. For our example, we are using the search terms COVID-19, COVID, COVID Delta, COVID Deaths. On this page you can enter your own news search terms and click the Search the news! Button. This will then show a graph of videos aggregated on cable news for a date range per month, week, day or year depending on the drop-down menu item you choose.
Now here is the best part, when you click on the graph for a particular day, it will bring up a list of videos pertaining to that search term for that day. They showed each search key word in a different color on the graph.
You can eliminate or add search terms by clicking the minus or plus buttons.
Save and Share Your Searches
Once you add your search terms and date range and perform your search, then save the URL in the address bar to bookmark or share your search. This will let you easily access the same search without needing to enter all your information again.
