New Nvidia SHIELD Update Out for 2015, 2017 Models

Nvidia Continues To Support Their Older Models with a New Firmware Update that Fixes Many Bugs and Adds DVR Recordings to a NAS from Channels App

Nvidia is off the charts when it comes to supporting their older models with another new Nvidia SHIELD Update. This one fixes a some ongoing issues and bugs on only their older 2015, and 2017 TV streaming boxes.

Constant updates from Nvidia even for an Android box that is now going on 5 year old, is one reason the SHIELD blows away every other Android box. That and the hardware they released in 2015 is still unmatched by any Android box available today. Another update is going to be available for 2019 SHIELD models in a few days.

Their new 2019 Nvidia SHIELD Pro, and Stick models expand upon this even further with some more features like a 25% faster Tegra X1+ processor, AI upscaling, Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atomos Audio. And both the SHIELD Stick and Pro also comes with the brand new improved remote even if it does have a mapped Netflix button. Learn how to fix this here.

But if you still have the older Nvidia SHIELD models, you will be happy to know there is another update now available that will fix some bugs. Including finally a fix for the older 2015 gaming controller that would not update.

Here's what Nvidia had to say in their forum about their latest update:

"Today we just released software upgrade 8.0.2 (32.5.205.105) for all 2015 and 2017 SHIELD and SHIELD Pro units. This update addresses many quality of life issues reported in the field, improving stability and compatibility with other devices in your home entertainment center. WeChip 30 Remote control is now supported over Bluetooth

ADUIO ISSUES

Also Vizio TV audio issue has been fixed with Vudu Movies
Audio Routing Issues have been resolved
The bug When activating certain Audio Formats and them not working as set has now been fixed
Audio Passthrough on KODI has been fixed
AUDIO Drop on DolbyTrueHD on HDMI Passthrough has also been addressed
