TV Antenna Quiz

When you completed your antenna installation you're ready for the big moment that you power up your TV. But you may find only a couple channels are available.

There is one more important step you must perform to ensure all the channels that are in your area are available and will be tuned in by your TV tuner.

Enter the settings on your TV, then rescan your TV channels. Each TV may be slightly different, but this step must be done to make sure you won't miss out on any stations.

If you haven't rescanned your channels recently, you may be missing out on additional channels that may be found.

That's because the FCC has been opening up and moving frequencies, that television content providers can use. So some channels you may have been moved to, and new ones may show up as well.

A channel scan can be time-consuming and can take several minutes to complete. But this is something that should be performed several times a year to make sure you don't miss out on new channels.

Channel scans also need to be done with DVRs like an HD HomeRun or Tivo, external tuners, or TV converter boxes as well.
