TV Antenna Quiz Question #8 - Discover the Joy of Watching Free TV
A TV Antenna Still Gives You The Best Programming FREE!
Antenna cables are terminated at each end with F Type Female to Female RF Coaxial connectors. They normally are used on RG6 and RG59 cable.
But not all connectors offer the same level of performance. If you ever terminated an antenna cable, with the old crimp on or twist on F connectors. Chances are you were missing out on the best signal quality. Because these twist-on type crimp connectors were often not reliable and contributed to signal loss in your antenna line.
The best connectors you can use when terminating an antenna cable are the same type satellite and cable TV installers use. These require a special compression crimping tool which is much different than the old-style squeeze tool you could buy at Radio Shack.
