Three Top Streaming Services With Unique Content

Netflix Vs AppleTV+ Vs Hulu

Netflix

Netflix has been the number one streaming service for many years. Their streaming library was second to none and you could access a virtual video store from your living room.

The early days of TV streaming were much different than today. Now we have many streaming services competing for our money. And now much of their content that was once exclusively available on Netflix has been removed and added to their own.

Currently, there are three monthly plans you can subscribe to on Netflix. And they are currently working on a 4th even lower-cost plan that will contain ads.

Netflix is also one of the most expensive streaming services available today. But this has not deterred many loyal Netflix subscribers who continue to enjoy their original programming which is still very good. But the higher cost has put a damper on Netflix subscriber growth recently, with many choosing to drop their subscriptions in favor of a less expensive streaming TV service.

The 4K Netflix plan is only a penny shy of $20 dollars and the 1080p plan is $15.49/month. Another factor of lower subscriber growth last few quarters is due to higher prices on food, gas, and many other items. And this has affected other streaming services as well.

Netflix could be missing out on an opportunity with its current entry-level plan. Currently, its lowest cost streaming plan is $9.99/month but it is only streamed in 480p SD, instead of 720p HD.

Since now most cord-cutters no longer own standard definition televisions, if Netflix dropped the price of its 480p SD plan to $6.99 and then offered a $9.99 plan in 720p HD, this could have a positive impact on retaining current subscribers and even help with adding additional new subscribers.

The Netflix user interface is top-notch and still one of the best. They have a nicely designed app for streaming, and no other streaming service has yet been able to design anything quite as nice.

Unfortunately, Netflix no longer has a free trial available, but you can start and stop Netflix or any other streaming service anytime with no additional service charges or fees.

Apple TV+

AppleTV+

As one of the least expensive ad-free streaming services, AppleTV+ is quickly gaining popularity. For $5/month you can stream unlimited and exclusive content. And this includes content filmed in 4K. While you won't find as much content on AppleTV+. Most Apple original content is really quite good.

Some of its television series have even won several awards lately. Apple TV searches have also increased 900% on Google this year, and that is a good indication how fast this streaming service is gaining traction.

The AppleTV+ app is also very nicely designed. It's available on a wide range of media streaming devices and works very nicely when paired with an Apple TV streamer.

Hulu

Hulu vs Netflix

Another popular streaming site, Hulu also offers original content, plus many syndicated shows available soon after they air publicly. Their app can sometimes be a little buggy, and it's not in the same class as Netflix or Apple TV+. But the wide range of content available makes this streaming service another popular option.

They offer both a plan with ads and ad-free. But even the ad-free plan still contains limited ads inserted by the content providers which Hulu has no control over.

You have three options when signing up for Hulu Ad-Free ($12.99), With Ads ($6.99), and Hulu +Live TV ($69.99). The most expensive Hulu plan along with a Live TV option also includes Disney+ and ESPN.

Available on a wide range of streaming devices, Hulu is another popular option for streamers, who want to eliminate their expensive cable TV bill. As a replacement for cable TV or satellite, they also offer additional streaming services that can be added to your subscription. These include HBO Max ($14.99/month), Cinemax ($9.99/month), Showtime ($10.99/month), and Starz ($8.99/month).

As an alternative to Netflix, Hulu is a great option as they still offer a large library of popular content. And if you can tolerate ads, the lowest cost plan seems like a bargain.
