TikTok users Now Watch on Samsung, LG, Google and Android TV
TikTok Now the popular short form video app is now available as an app on Smart TVs. Now you can watch TikTok "For You" and "Following" feeds on Samsung, LG, Google and Android TV large screen TVs.
If you have an Android TV media streamer like a Nvidia SHIELD, or Google TV like the new Chromecast Media player with remote, you can watch TikTok on your large screen TV.
Once you log in you'll have access to content in your 'For You' and 'Following' feeds on popular Smart TVs.
TikTok Has a Dark Side
TikTok is a popular app, especially for younger adults. But it has its dark side. The company recently announced steps to clean up some of the content shown to kids. But in recent news reports, TikTok was still showing content that was inappropriate. So parents may want to check their kids feeds from time to time to make sure this is still not happening.
Reports that the app spy on its users, with the information going back to China. The company disputes these allegations. It's best to be cautious and mindful of where your videos are filmed at and upload nothing that can compromise trade secrets or national security.
Where Will TikTok Be Available on Smart TVs
Unfortunately, only TikTok users in North America can currently use the Smart TV, Google TV, and Android TV versions of the app. They may expand to other markets, but the company has announced no plans to add this for other countries yet.
You can also get the app already on many other platforms like iOS, and Android as well. But there is no TikTok Roku channel yet available. With the threat of YouTube looming, now would be a great time for TikTok developers to be working on a Roku app which has a reach of millions of viewers. And it would help with the sting for those new customers that can no longer use YouTube on Roku.
