A Buffer Overflow is a security issue that happens when the amount of data exceeds the storage capacity of memory buffer and this overflowing data can then corrupt other space in memory or alter data.
Nvidia recommends updating your operating system when these updates are available. They have been great about rolling out new updates and patches even on thir older discontinued Nvidia SHIELD models.
