YouTube and Roku have still not yet settled their dispute. And contrary to popular belief, it has nothing to do with money. Rather, it's about privacy. YouTube wants to use the Roku plaform to spy on users of their channel and Roku won't let them. Therefore you can no longer add the Live YouTube channel from a Roku media streamer or add this channel.

YouTube tried to do an end run around this by letting you access their live content from their standard YouTube channel, but you can't sign up for YouTube TV on Roku. You will need to sign up at their website.

The Odysee app is another 3rd party Roku channel to watch YouTube content. You can use this channel to search and stream content directly from YouTube.
