Pro-Tip - How to Tweak the SHIELD Remote Netflix Button

SHIELD Pro-Tip - Here's How to Tweak The Remote Control Netflix Button

Customize The Netflix Button Function on The Nvidia SHIELD Remote:

Set Nvidia SHEILD Remote Netflix Button

If you use Netflix on your Nvidia SHIELD, the Netflix button is a handy shortcut. But it's easy to click unintentionally and launch the app when you don't mean to.

Here's what you can do to avoid this issue and make it less likely to happen.

When you first receive the remote a single press will launch the Netflix app on your SHIELD. There is a way to remap this button, so it works much better than what it's set to out of the box.
But you can change it to a double tap which works much better. This way it requires two button presses for the Netflix app to launch. Anyone unfamiliar with setup can still usually get it to work, because when one press does not work, they most likely will press the button several times out of sheer frustration. And this will actually still work and open Netflix.

So Set the SHIELD remote up like this:

Single tap - nothing happens.
Double tap - Netflix launches.
Hold the button - (Make it do something else, like launch the task switcher.)

NVIDIA SHIELD Button Mapper
To change the button function on the Nvidia SHIELD remote you need to first download the Button Mapper App. It's free to use and just ignore the pop up that tells you need to purchase it. Close it and the remote settings will still continue to work.

Using the button mapper app is pretty simple, watch the video below and it will give you some great pointers on how to use the app.
