Watch YouTube Videos at Faster Playback Speeds With no Loss in Video Quality

There's Nothing worse than sitting through a long YouTube Video waiting for someone to get to the point. Using this extra feature will fix it!

The new YouTube playback setting is amazing and will save you a ton of time. YouTube quietly rolled this out for Web clients, YouTube TV, and Xbox, and once we show you how easy it is to use, you will probably use it all the time.

YouTube added a new playback setting to their videos. And the technology behind it is nothing short of incredible. It speeds up the video while keeping the video quality itself almost normal. The audio is altered slightly, but still it's still very clear.

This is a big difference from the days of fast forwarding a DVD or VHS Tape, which made these video basically unwatchable. While this feature is not yet available in their YouTube app on Android or Roku. They are currently testing this feature, and they will probably add soon it in a future update.

How to Use the YouTube Playback Speed Setting

When watching YouTube videos in a Web browser, now you have several options to choose from in playback speed. Choose from 0.25, 0.5x, 1.25x, 1.5x, or 2x.

Here's How to Enable This Setting:

1. While playing a video, click the gear icon. If it does not show, it will appear when hovering your curser over the bottom of the video screen.
2. Then from the pop-up menu that appears after clicking the gear icon, choose Playback Speed Normal >

3. Now once you click on Playback Speed Normal > another pop-up appears. Select a playback speed to make the video play faster. You can also choose from a slower speed to slow down the video. If something is not perfectly clear, sometimes using a slower setting will make it easier to understand.

These Slower and Faster Playback Settings are Available:

Slower 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, Normal Faster 1.25, 1.5, 1.75, and, 2X

YouTube continues to be an impressive site for watching free content and using these playback settings gives you even more enjoyment when watching slow or longer videos.
