Right now AirPlay 2 from Apple is rolling out to Smart TVs and it is coming to TCL and other Roku TVs as well. LG Smart TVs already have received the update.

This will be true screen mirroring not casting and it will use a DIAL protocol. Screen mirroring will let you enjoy whatever you can play on your iOS iPad or iPhone and mirror this to your large screen Roku TV. This makes it possible to watch movies, use apps or anything else you like from your iOS or Mac devices and with it in full HD on a large screen TV.

AirPlay 2 Compatible Devices

• iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 11.4 or later
• Apple TV 4K or Apple TV HD with tvOS 11.4 or later
• HomePod with iOS 11.4 or later
• Mac or PC with iTunes 12.8 or later

These Roku TVs Will Receive the AirPlay 2 Update

Roku Smart TVs, Such as TCL, Sharp, Hisense, Hitachi, Sanyo, and RCA will all be compatible with AirPlay once they are updated.

We are not sure yet if certain stand-alone Roku media players like the Roku Ultra will also get the AirPlay update but there is a good possibility they may. Read more on Digital Trends

Apple iOS has Several Great IPTV Apps in the Apple Store!

Ever since the Roku IPTV channels were removed, many have been wishing for a way to watch IPTV streams again on Roku. With the AirPlay 2 updates, any IPTV app that works on an iOS phone or tablet can then be mirrored and then also watched on a large screen Roku TV.
