Cord-Cutters Much More Satisfied with Streaming TV Services
For The 6th Year in a Row Streaming Services like Netflix had Higher Scores than Cable TV
Cable TV Customer Satisfaction Dropped Even Further
In a recent consumer satisfaction report presented by the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) it shows cord-cutters are much more satisfied with streaming TV services such as Netflix, Prime, and Playstation Vue vs Cable TV providers like Charter Spectrum, and Xfinity Comcast. Which both again ranked near the bottom of the customer satisfaction chart.
The latest numbers don't bode well for cable companies who for the 6th year in a row had much lower scores averaging in the 60th percentile which in some case was the same or even lower than last year.
Overall, Cable TV companies had an average score of 62 for customer satisfaction. And Streaming TV scored a much higher customer satisfaction number of 78.

Netflix Satisfaction Score Increases Again
Even though Netflix customers had a rather significant price increase this last year their score continued to climb. And they once again topped the chart as the number one highest ranking streaming TV provider.
And all was not roses for some streaming TV channels. Because Sony Crackle managed to rank near the bottom approaching pay TV channel scores. Even though they are free, they tend to annoy their viewers with way too many commercials often playing the same ad over and over again every 10 minutes.
For a free ad-based streaming TV channel Tubi TV, which was not listed in the chart, offers a ton of great content with the least intrusive ads.
It's Not All Bad News For Cable TV Companies
Even though these numbers may look particularly bad for paid cable TV providers, there is a silver lining. Many of these same companies also provide broadband Internet service and these numbers have been skyrocketing over the last year.
As more and more people cut the cord, they are turning to high-speed Internet to make it possible. And as of right now most broadband is provided by the same companies with the dismal TV customer satisfaction scores.
As we see them raise prices there, to offset their cable TV losses. Hopefully, soon we see more in the way of competition from over the air broadband delivered by satellite and 5G. Further erroding big cable's monopoly and from reaching further into the pockets of hard working consumers.
