New Beta Roku channel, SCOUT let's you stream more great stuff on Netflix


Like a first kiss or first puppy, Netflix our first streaming service after cutting cable has always held a special place in our hearts. As much stuff as there is to watch on Netflix, it's not always very easy to find everything. Sure they offer their suggestions based on your user preferences. But there is still so much more in the huge library of Netflix content that often gets missed or completely overlooked.

 It's always exciting to see a new Roku channel that gives cable cutters another way of finding great content to stream. Netflix is currently one of the single most popular subscription streaming services available and a must have for those that want to slash their ever increasing monthly cable TV bills.

What is SCOUT? Scout organizes your streaming subscriptions. It let's you go to one location to find new releases. It also let's you sort your library by highest rated content, category or genres to help you locate and find media content quickly!


While only SCOUT for Netflix is available today. The developers are currently working on another channel simply called SCOUT that will work with a wide range of streaming providers. Their new SCOUT channel when released, will not only work with Netflix, it will also work with Hulu Plus, Crackle, Amazon Instant Video, and HBO Go.

If you own an Android device or Amazon Fire TV, the app is on the way and will be released soon. Currently the only channel available is their SCOUT for Netflix Beta channel.

 The nice thing about SCOUT for Netflix is you can load and play the movie directly from within the channel by clicking on the play button while browsing from your Roku.

 There is no need to go back to the Netflix channel and slog through your watch list.
Currently the SCOUT channel focuses mostly on the US Netflix catalog, they do have plans for adding the UK, Canada, and other countries in the future.

 Give the Roku SCOUT beta channel a try. It may help you find a great new TV Show or Movie on Netflix you otherwise may have missed altogether.
