Before you spend countless hours trying to find good streaming apps, we want to share a great source to find all the top ranked Apple TV apps. Appfigures is that source and you won't want to miss checking out.

Top Grossing Spoiler Alert: Disney Plus and HBO Max are making bank, Netflix is further down the list.
Find Great Free and Paid Apps for Your Apple TV
An Apple TV is really nothing more than a dumb box until you load it up with apps. Then it becomes smarter than any smart TV. Because the operating system is super simple to use. And it just works without hardly a glitch. Other media streamers we tried are a lot more glitchy.
Apple bashers like to point out the locked-down Apple App Store, but be sure to take a closer look at the app in the photo above that is number 6 on the list under Paid Apps. Then go and find a similar app to this one on Roku. You won't find it.
Apple is now less restrictive with its media player than Roku. And you can even sideload apps like Kodi on an Apple TV. But this requires a developer's account to do so. You can find more info here...
But this is not all you'll find on an Apple TV, if you look at the Free column, these are apps you can download to your Apple TV for free. This doesn't mean that these apps don't charge for content on their platform. But there is no charge to download them to your Apple TV.
Another interesting observation is where Netflix is on this list compared to NBC Peacock, Hulu, and Prime Video. This list gives you a good idea of which apps cord-cutters and TV streamers are currently finding the most appealing.
