Google TV FAST Channels

FAST is the acronym for free ad-supported streaming TV services. And popular Free streaming channels like The Roku Channel all implement these types of channels into their app as well.

Fast Channels are typically selected individually from a built-in grid guide. For example, Pluto TV contains a nicely integrated guide that contains many FAST channels that can be viewed individually from its included guide.

According to 9to5Google in the latest release of a new Google TV launcher, there are now 50 Fast Live channel logos included. And they will become part of the recently redesigned Google TV software.

Google FAST Channels Intially Only Available for U.S. Market

While some channels will share some similarities to the same type of channels found in many other free streaming apps like Pluto, STIRR, The Roku Channel, Samsung TV Plus, and others. Google also wants some of its FAST channels to be unique to its platform.

There are currently hundreds of FAST channels available in the U.S. and channels available on Android TV will offer 50 live TV channels with no subscription, sign-in, or download” required, and they will be called “Google TV Channels.”

Currently, these new FAST channels will be limited to the U.S. market only, but at some point, they may further integrate more live channels in other regions where Google TV is available.
