A New Cheaper Disney+ Plan With Ads is Coming in December

Disney+ with Ads

Cord cutters and TV streamers are not immune from inflation and rising costs. Disney announced that they are increasing the price of their ad-free subscription streaming TV service by 38%. That's the bad news, now here is some good news.

In December Disney plans on releasing an ad-supported plan which will cost $7.99/month. Their ad-free plan is now going to cost $10.99/month. The other good news is even at $10.99/month it's still almost half as expensive as Netflix's 4K plan which is $19.99.

This may be the reason Disney gained a record number of new subscribers last quarter, while Netflix lost a record number for the second quarter in a row.

Increasing Prices is Nothing New For Streaming

Since cord-cutting has become popular, many streaming services have increased prices throughout the years. But one good thing about streaming versus cable is the ads are mostly optional. With cable TV and satellite, customers are billed an exorbitant amount each month and are still forced to watch many ads.

Hopefully, streaming TV companies don't raise their prices too high on their ad-free plans. Or do away with ad-free plans altogether in favor of plans with ads only.

But if they do, now there are many great Free streaming apps available with ads, which would put a big dent in their profits.

The Best Deal is the Hulu, ESPN, and Disney+ Bundle

One of the best deals is their Hulu, Disney+, and ESPN bundle. This is $13.99/month with no ads on Disney+ but Hulu does have ads. Or you can choose the $19.99 bundle which comes with ad-free Hulu.
