YouTube Vanced blocked ads on YouTube. Blocking ads is a gray area, because on one hand we want to support individuals working hard to create new content to enjoy.
Yet when ads become so intrusive they keep people from wanting to view this content, they can have a negative effect and send users elsewhere. Many will seek streaming channels that offer an ad-free experience.
In the end, it was likely a legal issue that shut down YouTube Vanced app, which means this option to block ads on YouTube will no longer be available to Android users. But on their website, they listed some recommended alternatives.
YouTube Premium Another Ad-Free YouTube Alternative
YouTube will let you subscribe to YouTube Premium to enjoy an ad-free experience. Their premium version is $11.99/ after a 1-month free trial. This may only be worth it if you spend a large amount of your time watching YouTube videos. Otherwise, it may be better to spend this money on another streaming subscription like Apple TV+, Netflix, Disney+, and others.
