With the biggest shopping season right around the corner, Roku has new updated media streamers and another operating system update rolling out


Enhanced Roku Streaming Stick 4K
Roku updated their 4K Streaming and added a new Streaming Stick+ by including their top of the line rechargeable Roku Voice Remote Pro. Both now come with a faster processor and other nice enhancements such as:
  • Faster Quad-Core Processor
  • Dolby Vision
  • Improved Wi-Fi with 50% farther range
  • HDR & HDR10+
  • Rechargeable Voice Remote Pro
  • 4K UHD at 60 FPS
  • Dolby Digital 5.1 Audio & Dolby ATMOS (W/Pass-through Only)
  • Bluetooth
The major difference between the 4K and 4K+ Roku Streaming Stick is the remote and also the price.

The standard 4K Streaming Stick Model comes with Voice Control Roku Remote that can also control your TV. Where the Streaming Stick+ includes the rechargeable remote, which will save you some money on the cost of batteries. And as quickly as a Roku Remote chews through batteries, the extra cost between these two models can quickly be recouped by getting the model with the Voice Remote Pro.

Roku Ultra LT


Also new this year is an improved Roku Ultra LT. Like the Roku Ultra, this is a lighter, less expensive table-top model which uses the same case design.

It costs $20 less than the Roku Ultra but the LT Ultra model still comes with some significant features:

  • HDR, HDR10+, Dolby Vision
  • Dolby Digital 5.1 Support & Dolby ATMOS (W/Pass-through Only)
  • 50% Increased Wi-Fi Range
  • Updated faster processor & more onboard memory

Roku OS 10.5

Along with new models from Roku, they also released a new update to the Roku OS. Version 10.5, now includes Live TV channels that are easily accessible from the Home Screen. They also made it easier to set-up a new Roku using voice control. 
A microphone icon will show on the screen to let the user know they can use voice control to command certain functions. Use this to save from typing long tedious email addresses, passwords, or when entering your Pin Code to make purchases, or set family control filters.
