TikTok is a popular video-sharing social networking service owned by the Chinese company ByteDance.
The social media platform is used to make a variety of short-form videos, from genres like dance, comedy, and education, that lasts anywhere from three seconds to up to a minute.
It can now be used on an Nvidia SHIELD with their newly released Android TV apk. But there are some limitations.
While there has been a version of the app already released for Amazon Fire TV, this newly minted TikTok app was made specifically for the Android TV operating system, which is what the Nvidia SHIELD uses.

Now on Google Play But TikTok May Not Work in a Region Near You
Yes, there is a version of TikTok now available on the Google Play Store. But the app is still at this point limited to specific geographical regions. And until they turn on further access, the app may not be fully functional in your part of the world.
Even though you can now play TikTok videos on a big-screen TV, the videos are not full screen. Rather, they are the same sized format like on a cell phone. As shown in the photo above.
Android TV Version is Better Than The Fire TV Version
While the Fire TV version of TikTok has already been released. It only had a smaller curated library of content that anyone without an account could access. But the Android TV has no limitations and has access to all its content.
There are some limitations in the Android TV version as well. Missing from this version of the app are auto sub-titles and the search function is a bit wonky.

You can download TikTok for Android TV from the Google Play Store directly to your SHIELD or other Android TV media player.
