How Turn Off the Annoying Netflix Are You Still Watching on Roku Reminder

How to Turn Off Netflix Are You Still Watching on Roku

Is Netflix nagging you more than you like? Here's how to silence the Are You Still Watching Netflix Reminders on your Roku for Good!

Turn Off Netflix Are You Still Watching on Roku

The Netflix Are You Still Watching Bandwidth Saver was put in place by Roku for those unfortunate enough who have broadband providers that impose bandwidth caps. And they like to impose extra penalties if one exceeds their allocated monthly data usage limit.

But some may find the constant reminders a nuisance, and an annoying interruption to a perfectly good TV streaming binge fest. So we are going to show you how to disable them once and for all right on Roku.

Disable The Bandwidth Saver Netflix Are You Still Watching Reminder

Since this reminder was put in place by Roku and not Netflix, turning it off is easy. Just follow these steps and say goodbye to those annoying binge interrupters once and for all.

On Your Roku Remote:
Step 1. Press the Home button. This is the button with the icon of a little house.
Step 2. Scroll over to the to Settings Menu and press the OK button.
Step 3. Scroll on to Network and press OK.
Step 4. Finally Chose the Bandwidth Saver Menu item and press the OK button to uncheck the box.
Step 5. Verify check mark is cleared and press the home button again to resume enjoying Netflix on your Roku with no more interruptions.
And that's all there is to it. You won't have anymore Netflix Are You Still Watching reminders ever again.

To turn the reminder back on should you ever want to use this feature on your Roku, just go through the steps above but this time make sure the check box is checked. This enables the Bandwidth saver to keep you from falling asleep and burning though half your monthly bandwidth allowance.

With the Bandwidth Saver Reminder Enabled What Triggers it to Show Up?

This reminder can pause your video playback on other channels besides Netflix on your Roku. In case you are wondering what triggers it to show up, it's your Roku remote.

If the remote is placed down and no motion is detected for an extended time, this will trigger the alert and pause the video and the message Are You Still Watching will display on the screen.

This can serve a purpose, so if you typically like to watch TV with the remote in your hand it should never be an issue unless you fall asleep. Then you won't wake up having burned through 3 seasons of a show you just started watching.
