ViacomCBS Embraces The Future Of Streaming TV
In the not too distant future, needing to wade through hundreds of different channels to watch the content will change. We can already see these changes taking place with "Super Channels" like The Roku Channel, Apple TV+, Pluto TV. And soon many others will also need to become super-sized content containers for many streaming channels and services under their umbrellas.
ViacomCBS is also planning on making CBS All Access a major player in order to gain a larger foot print and coax more viewers onto their products and streaming services.
With advertising dollars a huge factor. The more eyeballs glued to a streaming service, the less chance they wander off looking at the content of a competitor.
With CBS All Access already close to reaching 16 Million subscribers by the end of 2020, it makes sense to build upon their successful streaming service to make it compete with Roku, Apple TV Plus, Disney+ and others.
Soon, tuning into CBS All Access will bring us content from Pluto TV and others for free, plus premium content for those choosing to subscribe to watch everything they offer.
