The anticipated launch of Disney's streaming service must be making Hulu a little nervous. They have had some great subscriber growth this year especially with their 12/month promotion they offered earlier in the year which came out to $.99/month with ads.

Hulu has once again offered another promotion for new subscribers. But this one is only good for 6/months and it will give new subscribers or past subscribers those who have not subscribed in the last 12 months a special price of only $2.99/month on their ad free package which is now $5.99/month.

While not as good as the last deal earlier in the year, it is a great way to catch up on all three seasons of The Handmaid's Tale. A TV series well worth binging if you have not yet watched it.

Hulu With Ads Is Now A New Lower Regular Price

Hulu recently offered another great discount by dropping the regular monthly cost of their ad-free package from $7.99/month to $5.99/month. Which is another way to save.

Apple TV Streaming Service Also Coming Soon

Apple is also launching their streaming service soon and if the rumors are true it will cost more than Disney and Hulu at $9.99/month. (That's still unconfirmed.)

While Netflix raised their prices, more competition should mean lower prices for cord cutters. At least for the short term, as some streaming content providers battle each other for subscriber market share.

And to combat churn, where streamers simply watch a service for a month or two and then go to another, we most likely will see more longer term discounts being offered like from Hulu and Disney Plus.

Hulu’s Just Redesigned Their Live Guide on Hulu.com, Apple TV and Roku
