Hulu, Would You Pay More to Turn Off Ads?
The Streaming Industry is Banking Big on the Fact That Cord Cutters will Sit Through Ads
With companies like Roku basing future profits on online advertising and many free services offering an ad-based revenue model where does that leave cord cutters?
Many may have cut the cord in the first place to flee a large number of ads present on live cable TV in favor of streaming on-demand services like Netflix and Amazon video because they don't have ads.
Hulu setup their on-demand streaming TV service a little differently. They gave their subscribers a choice. You can either pay less $7.99/month and watch ads or pay $4 more and watch Hulu without ads. Mostly anyways. Some shows are exempt from this and will still show ads.
Would you watch ads, or would you rather seek out ad free alternatives?
