How to Use PS4 Remote Play For Playing Your Games From a PC or Mac

Here Is What You Need
- Sony Playstation 4PRO Their latest most powerful model that is the 4K ready
- Dual Shock Wireless Controller
- USB cable or Dual Shock wireless adapter to hook your PS4 Bluetooth controller to your Windows PC or Mac by Bluetooth.
- External Internal Mic from computer for voice chat.
- High Speed Internet minimum 15Mbps reccomended.
- Sony Entertainment Network Account. Click here to create one if you don't yet have one.
Minimum Computer Specs:
PC that uses an Intel i5-560M Processor 2.67 GHz or faster and runs Windows 8.1 or 10
Mac that uses an Intel Core i5-520M Processor 2.40 GHz or faster and uses OSX Yosemite or newer.
Minimum 2GB for either OS of Free Ram and 100Gb of storage for Windows and 40 for OSX
To begin streaming your games from your PS4 and control gameplay from your PC or Mac, do this.
Troubleshooting Remote Play
- Not all PS4 games support Remote Play. If you experience buffering or lag, make sure your Internet provides at least 5Mbps Up and Down.
- The faster your Internet the better the performance will be with online games. You can check your Internet connection on your PS4 by going to (Settings) > [Network] > [Test Internet Connection].
- An Ethernet connection from your PS4 to your Router is more preferable than WiFi and can eliminate a lot of potential issues.
- Lagging and buffering when using WiFi can be eliminated or greatly reduced by moving your PS4 as close to your WiFi Router as possible.
- For best performance when using Remote Play, make sure others on your home network are not streaming or downloading. This can place a high demand on your broadband connection an make your game streaming lag or buffer.
- To improve performance you can also lower the resolution from your Remote Play application using the settings menu in Windows or the preference screen from Remote Play on your or Mac.

Setting Up PS4 Remote Play
- Download the Remote Play installer and save it to an easy to find location on your computer.
- Launch and install the application we downloaded in step one onto your computer, you may be asked to add additional software that may be needed for the software to work. Follow the onscreen prompts.
- Setup your PS 4. Before you can use Remote Play on your computer you will need to do a couple things first on your PlayStation.
Windows Mac
- Turn on Remote Play. On your PS4 choose (Settings) > [Remote Play Connection Settings], and then click the checkbox for [Enable Remote Play] and make sure it is checked.
- Make sure your PS4 is activated as the Primary System by choosing (Settings) > [PlayStation Network/Account Management] > [Activate as Your Primary PS4] > [Activate]
- To make sure your PS4 wakes from rest mode choose (Settings) > [Power Save Settings] > [Set Features Available in Rest Mode]. Then select the checkboxes for [Stay Connected to the Internet] and [Enable Turning On PS4 from Network]

Activate Remote Play
To begin streaming your games from your PS4 and control gameplay from your PC or Mac, do this.
- Make sure your PS4 is turned on or in Rest mode.
- Attach your Dual Shock controller. You can either use a USB cable or pair it with the Bluetooth DualShock wireless adapter.
- Launch the PS4 Remote Play application on your PC or Mac.
- Login to your same Sony Entertainment Network account that you use on your PS4.
- The app will then look for your PS4 on your home network and link it to your PC or Mac.
Once linked just make sure your Dual Shock controller is hooked to your computer and open the app. It will then automatically connect each time and you will be able to control your PlayStation from your PC just like you would if you were using it on your TV.
