Football Season is in the air - Here are the Apps and Channels You Need to Stream and Watch Your Favorite NFL Teams

Roku NFL Fans may have been disappointed to learn their NFL Game Pass channel was being discontinued. It was only because it was replaced with something even better.

That's right for the 2016-2017 Football Season a new NFL channel is now available on Roku. Previously it was only available for Chromecast, Apple TV, Xbox One and Xbox 360. It will also be available to users of PlayStation, Android TV, and Amazon Fire TV & Stick owners as well.

The new NFL channel on Roku has had a logo makeover and looks totally different than the old NFL Game Pass channel. Add it to your Roku and it will give you full access to everything you enjoyed on NFL Now plus all the new features included along with what you enjoyed with NFL Game Pass.

Here is how it works, NFL Now is free to all viewers and offers a live stream video along with short game highlight videos. If you want to view current games both full and condensed you will need to watch these on the NFL Game Pass portion of the channel.

NFL Game Pass is only available to subscribers and costs $99.99 a year.

"Sunday morning and afternoon games (9:30am ET, 1pm ET & 4pm ET) are available at the conclusion of all Sunday 4pm ET games, and Sunday night, Monday night, Thursday and Saturday NFL games are available following the conclusion of the applicable game telecast. However, if you are accessing NFL Game Pass through a free trial, Thursday night games will not be available until 3 days after the telecast."

To get around this blackout rule and watch the games live, you can use a VPN and change your IP on your Router to a country from Canada or the UK. Learn more...
