How Use Your Remote to Watch Playstation Vue on Your PS 4 or PS3
No need to use your PS4 game controller, use your remote to watch Playstation Vue
Have a Playstation 3 or 4 sitting around the house collecting dust? Why not turn it into an awesome cord cutting media streamer and use it to watch Sony's Playstation Vue streaming TV service.
First you need to dump the game controller and hook your TV remote up so it will work with your Playstion Vue streaming TV service. It only takes a few steps to get it working and it will make watching TV so much more enjoyable. Sure you can buy this remote that is sold to go with the PS4, but it costs $30 and has pretty bad reviews. Chances are the remote you already own is better and will save you some extra cash.
If you have a newer TV that is less than 5 or 6 years old, they have a menu to turn on a device linking service. These go by different names for different brand TVs.
This works by using a High Speed HDMI cable with the CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) function to allow your TV to control compatible devices. Connected devices must be CEC compliant.
