Internet Archive Sued For Piracy
Digital Library or Piracy Hub?
The Internet Archive is a nonprofit digital library that operates the Wayback Machine, which catalogs the Internet's history. However, the Archive has recently faced controversy over its lending model for digital copies of physical books, movies, and TV shows. Their eBook model allows the lending of one copy of a digitized book at a time to one person under the Controlled Digital Lending model (CDL). Critics argue that this model is unfair to authors as it deprives them of royalties.
