How to Set Up and Activate Your Roku Device

Easily Set Up a New Roku for FREE!


If you've just purchased a Roku device, congratulations! You're in for a world of streaming entertainment. More importantly, you don't need to pay any online service pretending to be Roku support any money, so hold onto your credit card. Activating a Roku is free and there are no extra fees to activate a Roku involved, once you bought it and brought it home.

In order to get started using your Roku, you'll first need to set up and activate your device. Don't worry - it's a simple process that should only take a few minutes.



Here's how to Activate a Roku:

Step 1: Connect Your Roku Device to Your TV


The first thing you need to do is connect your Roku device to your TV. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Locate the HDMI port on your TV and plug in the Roku device.
  2. Connect one end of the power cord to the Roku device and the other end to a power outlet.
  3. Turn on your TV and select the HDMI input that corresponds with the Roku device.



Step 2: Connect Your Roku Device to Your Home Network


Next, you'll need to connect your Roku device to your home network. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. On your Roku device, navigate to "Settings" and select "Network."
  2. Select "Wireless" and then select your home network from the list of available networks.
  3. Enter your Wi-Fi password when prompted.
  4. Your Roku device should now be connected to your home network.

Step 3: Create a Roku Account

In order to activate your Roku device, you'll need to create a Roku account. Here's how to do it:

  1. On your computer or mobile device, go to https://my.roku.com/signup.
  2. Fill in the required information, including your name, email address, and password.
  3. Select "Continue" and follow the prompts to finish creating your account.

Step 4: Activate Your Roku Device

Now that you have a Roku account, it's time to activate your Roku device. Here's how:

  1. On your TV, you should see a message with an activation code.
  2. On your computer or mobile device, go to https://my.roku.com/link.
  3. Enter the activation code shown on your TV and select "Submit."
  4. Follow the prompts to complete the activation process.

Step 5: Add Channels to Your Roku Device

Now that your Roku device is activated, it's time to start streaming! To do this, you'll need to add channels to your device. Here's how:

  1. On your Roku home screen, navigate to "Streaming Channels."
  2. Select "Search Channels" and enter the name of the channel you want to add.
  3. Select the channel from the list of search results.
  4. Select "Add Channel" and follow the prompts to complete the installation.
  5. Repeat steps 2-4 for any additional channels you want to add.
