It's frustrating when an Nvidia Shield remote stops working. The good news is, that you can pair a Fire TV Remote you may already have laying around the house.

Fire TV or Fire TV Stick owners who no longer use it because their SHIELD is 100X faster. Can use their Fire TV remote to replace a broken SHIELD TV remotes.



Some SHIELD Remotes Had Issues


While the Nvidia SHIELD is a great media player. Unfortunately, the 2nd generation remote control that uses watch batteries is not the best. The rechargeable first-generation and their current version remote contro is a lot more reliable.

If you already own a Fire TV Stick, the included remote is actually pretty nice and is high quality. And you can easily pair it to a SHIELD to replace a broken remote control. This will make your Nvidia SHIELD media work great again work great again. Without spending more money for a more expensive Nividia remote.

You can also find Fire TV remotes on eBay. They retail for $30 dollars which is a little on the expensive side. But you can find them for $17 brand new.

How to Pair a Fire TV Remote to the SHIELD


A Fire TV remote paired to the SHIELD will no longer works with a the Fire TV unless re-paired again to the Fire TV.

Follow These Steps to Pair a Fire TV Remote to an Nvidia SHIELD

Step 1. Open Bluetooth Setting on the Nvidia SHIELD and Go To Bluetooth Accessories

Step 2. Press and hold the Home button for 5 seconds. It will then begin pairing. Watch the video below for more help.
