The New Discovery+ Channel Joins many Others for Stand-Alone Streaming TV Goodness
2021 brings us another great stand-alone streaming service. The Discovery+ channel just launched their own streaming channel which finally breaks the tie to cable and satellite TV subscription bundles.
Now that they offer a stand-alone channel to watch the same great content on the Discovery Television Network, many cord-cutters will once again be able to subscribe and watch their content without paying a king's ransom each month to a cable TV provider.
How Much Will Discovery+ Cost?
The biggest question first asked is how much will it cost? Discovery+ will offer two tiers. Their ad-supported channel is $4.99/month and for only $2 more at $6.99/month you can watch their channel without advertisements.
If you are a Verizon customer, they offer a 12-month subscription free. Only new and existing Play More or Get More Unlimited plan subscribers can get this 12 months deal on Discovery+ and Start or Do More Unlimited Verizon plan subscribers will be eligible for a 6-month free subscription as well.

Why No Live TV Content?
Live streaming TV content is not available yet on their new channel. This means that shows that are aired live must still be watched on Discovery from cable providers. But after every episode has aired, then all episodes will be available to be watched on-demand.
