NEW Roku Ultra Supports Dolby Vision

A New Roku Ultra is on the Way and it will be the Best Roku Media Player Yet

The New Faster Roku Now Ultra Supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos

2020 Roku Ultra

It's that time of the year again. The time when media streamer companies begin rolling out their latest and greatest new media streamer models. And the New $99 Roku Ultra is no slouch. It remains one of our favorites because it comes with an Ethernet port.

But if you don't have a wired connection. You will be happy to learn the new Ultra now comes with greatly improved WiFi. The company claims a 50% improvment over past models. And now they have included Blue Tooth for the first time.

While on the outside it may look like other previous models, there are some important changes and here's what Roku's new flagship streamer has to offer:

Dolby Vision is to the eyes, what Dolby Atmos does for our ears. Watching shows and movies that support Dolby Vision will appear richer with more defined and enhanced color.

Video: 1080p, 4K, HDR, and Dolby Vision. Audio: Digital stereo, DTS Digital Surround, Dolby Audio and Atmos Wi-Fi: 802.11ac MIMO dual-band with 50% Improved wireless Storage: MicroSD card slot Ports: Ethernet, USB Included in the Package: Roku Ultra, Roku Voice Remote, HDMI Cable, JBL Headphones

This new Roku is one of the best ever! It's 30% faster so channel navigation is much snappier. And while it costs $100, they will probably offer some nice discounts during the holiday season.

We wish Roku could have come up with a little better naming convention. Something along the lines of what Apple did with their Apple TV Line. A Roku Ultra 4.0, or Roku Ultra 2020 would of helped their customers better understand which model it is they are buying.

Apple AirPlay 2 and HomeKit Support for 4K Models Is On The Way

With a new Roku model also comes new and improved software. Roku OS 9.4 Software roll out soon with great new feature everyone that owns a newer model Roku can also enjoy.

Once the software is ready in the next few weeks. Select 4K Roku models will support both Apple AirPlay and HomeKit. This means iPhone, Apple Computer and iPad owners can easily cast HBO and other streaming sites to watch directly on Roku.

Using Airplay 2.0 users can pause, rewind and control videos on Roku from an iPhone or iPad. Homekit allows control of a Roku through the Apple Home app on an iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, or Apple HomePod.

New Roku Themes

Along with Airply support, look forward to new Themes. Available in the next Roku software update will be Kids, Naughtical, Jungle and a Western Theme.

Easier Live Channels Access

The new update brings users easier and faster access to Roku's Live Channels Guide. This guide gives users access to 115 live TV channels and they can be launched even faster from the Home Screen.

Stand-Alone Roku App Support

With the new update phone owners can enjoy watching content from The Roku Channel free without even needing to own a Roku media player. Since Roku makes money from ads on Free content, rather than on hardware. This will be even another great revenue source for the company from many Apple iOS owners who can now watch this free content on their phones and tabelts.
