Here Are The Juicy Details
The 2020 and 2019 LG Smart TV models already received the Apple TV+ App. Now it's the 2018 LG Smart TV models turn to get the app.
Then they can watch Apple TV+ original shows, rent movies through iTunes. And now that Apple made a deal with CBS/Viacom to have CHS All Aceess and Showtime on their platform for a reduced price of $10 additional a month.
This means Apple TV subscribers will have even more content they can access on Apple's streaming TV service. Apple TV+ is free for a year if you buy Apple hardware. Like an iPhone, Apple TV, iMac, or MacBook.
Normally they charge $5/month. So for a grand total of $15, subscribers will finally have something on Apple that can compete with the likes of Netflix, Prime Video or Hulu.
How to Get the Apple App on your LG TV
First search to see if the Apple app is in the LG App Store on your TV already. And if it's available, install it on your LG Smart TV.
If it's not there, another way to get it is to update your LG TV to the latest firmware. 05.20.01 for 2018 LG TVs - B8 and LCD TVs & 05.20.02 for C8 and OLED TVs.
After the firmware update, The app may then be on your TV. If not, check the App Store again and the Apple TV+ app should then be there to install on your 2018 LG Smart TV.
