Nvidia Shield TV Pro: Best Media Player On The Market

Sorry Fire TV - Can't Touch This

When we came across this video on YouTube, we could not help but share it. Because it describes the way we feel about the Nvidia SHIELD TV Pro. And when it comes to Android boxes the SHIELD TV Pro Rocks!

As much as we love our Roku and Apple TV 4K, (Yes we use them all) the SHIELD is an amazing piece of media streaming technology many will fall in love with the minute they open the box.

Because it's not just another Android streaming box. It's a media streamer that when it was released, was ahead of its time. And it still is to this day.

Anyone that has played the Android box upgrade game with cheap Android boxes will appreciate all that the SHIELD TV Pro Android TV box has to offer. Not only does it have a faster processor, it is the only Android streaming box that comes with software updates for years.

Most other cheap Android boxes are great when you first buy them. But the minute a newer version of Android releases, that's when the party is over for most and they can quickly becomes obsolete. Especially, if you want newer features or bug fixes. They would still much rather sell you a slightly faster newer Android media streamer.

It's much like the old PC days where you could drop $1500 on a 286 computer that would become obsolete in 6 months. Surpassed by one that had slightly faster hardware.

We played this game in the past and are so over it. Using a media streamer with the latest Android OS, and a processor that blows away anything currently put out by the cheaper clone box builders even 4 years later deserves a HDMI spot in the entertainment center.

So yes, when this video says "Best Media Player On The Market?!!" We would have to agree.

Plex and Kodi Users The Nvidia SHIELD Pro is the Media Player For You

The SHIELD TV Pro is the only media player can act both as a Plex media player and server. And it rocks Kodi like nobody's business. For streaming your media from online sources. Or when using PlayOn to download your media from streaming services like Netflix, Disney+, Hulu and more...

Nvidia SHIELD TV Pro In High Demand

The newly released SHIELD TV Pro model is only slightly faster than the 2017 model that proceeded it. But, it does come with a nicer remote. Newer models are still hard to find on store shelves with everyone snapping them up during the COVID-19 shutdown and the related production shutdown.

But look on eBay for deals on an older model. It still has the current Android software and can often be found at a much better price. You don't need the Pro because the previous Pro model came with 500 GB regular spinning hard drive. The regular SHIELD which looks just like the current Pro works fine. (Except for the remote) and a minimally slower GPU.

If you need extra storage space, use a recommended external USB SSD drive. Like the SanDisk 500GB Extreme Portable External SSD - With Up to 550MB/s - USB-C, USB 3.1 - SDSSDE60-500G-G25

Or check here for deals on the current SHIELD TV Pro model.

The retail price is $199 for a SHIELD TV Pro, so don't get shellacked by sellers asking much more than that.

If you want full access, to all the best apps on Android. And a media streamer that will be supported for a long time by a large well known company like Nvidia.

The Nvidia SHIELD TV Pro is hands down the best choice when it come it comes to an Android TV media player.
