Charter spectrum offers their broadband customer two streaming plans to try and entice cord cutters back into the fold. Having a steady supply of money from a customer month after month, year after year is pretty hard to do without. Especially after getting used to this recurring income for many years.

Now that PS Vue is getting out of the live TV channel streaming business, if you are a former subscriber looking for a new place to spend your monthly live cable TV allowance this may be the best deal going right now.

While finding information on Charter's website on both their streaming channel plans is not easy to find. We wanted to make it a little more simple by directly comparing each Live streaming TV plan in one place.

Both Spectrum streaming plans can be used directly from a Roku, Apple TV, Xbox One and even an iOS or Android Tablet or Smart Phone. This means if you have multiple televisions you were paying monthly rental fees to Charter for a cable box and they already have one of these streamers attached. FireTV users, for the moment are out of luck because Charter does not yet support these devices. But watch the video at the end, because some clever YouTuber claims to have figured out a workaround to get this working on a Fire TV.

First of all, you will not receive any local channels, regional or local sports or any of the big sports networks at all with this plan. But if you already use an antenna, and don't watch sports this may not matter much. And Spectrum still includes 60 live cable TV channels.

While this plan costs twice as much than their more affordable option. It does come with local broadcast channels. So if you don't feel like climbing up on the roof to mess with an antenna, or your reception is marginal on some stations this may be the right plan.

One thing missing is a DVR, but Spectrum will either let you rent a DVR for an extra monthly charge or simply choose your shows from their large library of streaming on-demand video library.

These plans both will save you a ton of money if you plan on cutting the cord. But never forget, this is still big cable and they are famous for raising prices a little bit at a time. So in several years, if you decide to stick with them you could be paying a lot more.
