Netflix Will Stop Working on Older Roku Players after December 1, 2019

Own an Older Roku and Watch Netflix? Soon You'll Need to Update to a Newer Roku Model
Netflix users with older Roku players have been receiving popup notices when launching Netflix lately. Telling them their older Roku device will no longer support their channel on Roku after December 2019.
This error message on older Roku models showed up after a recent Roku OS Update to version 3.1 and here is what it says:
Due to technical limitations, Netflix will no longer be available on this device after December 1st, 2019. Please visit netflix.com/compatibledevices for a list of available devices.
Why Is Netflix Doing This?
The reason for this does not exclusively have to do with Netflix. Because Roku will stop supporting a list of older Roku models which will no longer be eligible to receive any more software updates from Roku.
If your Roku model is on this list, you will want to update to a newer model soon.

A New Roku Means Better Performance and More Features
While it's disappointing having to spend more money to watch Netflix, there is a silver lining. New Roku models from the last few years have much faster processors, offer more features, and snappier performance. And if you check eBay you will most certainly find some great Roku deals.
Just be sure to choose a current Roku model from the list below.

Current Netflix apps offer autoplay video clips. These are preview trailers of TV shows and movies available to watch on Netflix. While some may hate them at first, especially since they are not available on older Roku models. It really is a great way to find more great content to watch.
