About Dailymotion

Like YouTube, the Dailymotion Roku Channel was a great source to watch the latest music videos, news, and sports updates. They have a user base of over 300 million from all over the planet.

The Dailymotion Roku Channel continued to work on Roku long after they decided to stop supporting it. At least it did up until a few months ago. Now that it has finally vanished off the platform for good, here is an easy way to keep on watching Dailymotion with the help of a simple Android app.

This trick also works with many other channels that are available to stream from a website. Like the long list of Free online streaming channels that are on page 1 of our recently updated Free Streaming TV Web app.

How to Keep Watching Dailymotion and Other Web Content on Roku and Other Streamers

This requires an Android Phone or Tablet. And a Web Video Cast Android app from Google Play. Web Video Cast is basically a web browser (with a built-in ad-blocker!) which sends any streaming video on Android directly to Roku. The nice thing is it's not mirroring which sends over the entire screen. Rather this only sends or "Casts" the streaming video URL to the companion Roku Channel it installs on Roku the first time it is launched.

This is a very handy app and since it only sends the initial URL to Roku while hardly using any battery life on the mobile Android device at all. And watching a full 2-hour movie will only knock down a couple percent from a mobile device battery.

Another nice feature is you can use the Web Video Cast app on a phone or tablet while a video is playing as a remote control. And this is great to pause, rewind, fast forward, the video while it's playing. This app adds full Chromecast-like functionality to Roku and makes it easy to watch and control videos from Dailymotion and other websites and even those from IPTV playlists.
