Netflix Phishing Email Alert

It only takes seconds to lose a Netflix account username and password or credit card information to a scammer. And this is how they do it.

Any Phishing scam pretty much starts off the same way with an email. And these emails always have something in them that requires urgent, immediate action.

The latest scam arrives with an official-looking email from Netflix. And it tells the email recipient that they have placed their Netflix account on hold due to a problem with the credit card or billing information.

Normally this would send most people into a tizzy and make them want to resolve this problem right away. This sense of urgency is what the scammers are counting on because it often makes people react quickly before they have time to think.

Here's How to Get a FREE Netflix Account!

Stop! Never Automatically Click Links in an Email

Anti-phishing experts recommend first checking email sender's address. Because many times it will show the originating email is not from the company sending the email. Email addresses can easily be spoofed though. So it's much safer to visit a site directly by going to www.netflix.com in a web browser rather than clicking the link in an email. And then it's easy to check settings, account status, and billing information right on the site to verify the account is correct.

To Recap Don't Click Email Links!

Emails warning that something is wrong and require immediate attention are should always be suspect. Never log into an account from an email. Stay safe online. And always remember, if in doubt call or visit the site directly instead of clicking on a link in an email.
