Once upon a time Hulu offered a FREE TV service that anyone with a PC could watch for Free

Even though the Free Hulu as we knew it is gone, it still lives on as a streaming TV service that anyone can watch. Except it is no longer named Hulu, it's now named Yahoo View. It features many of the same shows that are popular on Hulu and the best part is, it is 100% FREE.


Yahoo View will let you watch the last five episodes from your favorite TV series from popular TV networks such as NBC, ABS and Fox. Recent shows will not be available though until eight days from the original air date.

Besides being a great resource to stream many thousands of shows for free, Yahoo View also includes many FREE movies, documentaries, interviews, news shows and much more.

You Can't Watch Yahoo View On Roku Until You Do This



For some reason, you are unable to watch the Yahoo View channel for free on Roku as their own channel. The good news is you can still watch it fine with a little work around.

If you are a Fan of Free TV, there is no reason you should not be able to watch Yahoo View on Roku if you take the time to follow these steps.

If you use the Chrome web browser, you can install the Roku Cast Chrome Extension

This extension supports casting mp4 files viewed from your Chrome web browser right to your Roku.        Fortunately, much of HTML 5 which online videos are going to are either mp4 and m4v which Roku will play fine. Flash videos are not supported by this extension or can't be played on Roku either. 

If you have PlayOn, they also make a plugin that will let you watch Yahoo View on Roku through their channel. This will require a PC to be on unless you use their cloud service. You can learn more about PlayON here.
