(Source Wikipedia)April 15, 1912 was the day the RMS Titanic the largest ship in in the world at the time which had just entered service as a British passenger liner, the second of three Olympic-class liners built by Harland and Wolf shipyards in Belfast went to its watery grave in the North Atlantic Ocean. In the early morning hours The Titanic collided with an iceberg during its first voyage from Southampton to New York City. On-board were an estimated 2,224 passengers and crew and over, 1500 died that fateful day. This was one of the deadliest commercial maritime disasters in modern history.
Submerged and unfound, it remained under the cold North Atlantic ocean until 1985, when more than 70 years later the remains of the Titanic were discovered. The Titanic was split in two and was found at a depth of 12,415 feet (3,784 m).
