Play Blu-ray DVDs in VLC 2.1.2
VideoLAN (VLC) will play Blu-ray files for free unless they are encrypted. For this you will need to do a little extra work. Go to this link and download these two files: "keys database" and "AACS dynamic library". Instructions on where to put the files are included on the page. Once installed, you can easily play Blu-Ray files with VLC on Windows 7 64-bit or Windows 7 32 bit, OS X and Linux for free. Note: VLC 2.0 still doesn’t have menu support yet.Please Note: If VLC won't play your Blu-ray movies correctly, you will need some good third party software to help you. UFUSoft Blu-ray Player for Windows 7 ($39) will play Blu-ray movies on Windows 7. Another option is to get the UFUSoft Blu-ray Ripper software for Windows 7($49) then rip and transcode Blu-ray discs to WMV/AVI/MPG/MPEG/MOV/MKV/MP4 format to play with streamers, media players, or Windows, Mac or Linux computers. This is also required if your computer does not have a Blue-ray player.
