Untethered Apple TV 5.3 Jailbreak Released

Untethered Apple TV 5.3 Jailbreak Released

FireCore developers of SeasOnpass, updated their software to 2.4 providing fully untethered support for 2nd Gen Apple TV firmware 5.3

SeasOnPass 2.4 along with various fixes and improvements features these enhancements:

  • Fully supports Apple TV 5.3 untethered.  Untethered means you don’t need to hook your Apple TV back up to a PC or Mac every time it looses power or whenever it needs to be rebooted.
  • Provides more reliable installation with less chance to brick your Apple TV.
  • New and improved onboard diagnostic reports

FireCore is also reporting good progress on a jailbreak for Apple TV 6.0+ and should have more news on this soon. The bad news is an Apple TV 3 jailbreak still highly unlikely for now.

For current generation 2 Apple TV owners with firmware 5.3, here are the Free SeasOnpass 2.4 download links for Mac OS X and Windows:

FireCore also offers a $29.95 enhanced version of their aTV Flash (black) software which includes several additional features:

  • Media Anywhere – Access media on a NAS PC or MAC
  • Movie Art and Posters
  • Digital Signage
  • Enhanced Network Speed
  • One – Subtitles
