Here's How to Set Netflix Parental Controls


Set Maturity Level on your Netflix Account to Keep Your Netflix Content Family Friendly






Setting Netflix Parental Controls if you have a Roku or Android Streamer can't be done on the device itself. Instead, parental control settings must be changed from a computer or mobile browser from your Netflix account. 

 All devices currently attached to your Netflix account will be affected.
Netflix parental controls include four maturity levels and they are as follows:

  • Little Kids - Watch movies and TV shows suitable for all ages.
  • Older Kids - Watch movies and TV shows suitable for older kids.
  • Teens - Watch movies and TV shows suitable for teens.
  • Adults - Watch all movies and TV shows, including mature content.




If you have more than one user profile linked to your Netflix account, you can also set Parental Controls individually on each account.

Please Note:  Changing parental controls does not take effect instantly. It actually can take up to 8 hours for these changes take effect. You can speed up the process by signing out of your Netflix account on each device you want to watch on, then sign back in.


Here is How to Set Netflix Parental Controls



Click Edit for the profile you want to change and then in the drop down menu choose parental control settings. See photo above for more details.

"For the main profile on your account, you are only able to change these settings to Teens and below or All Maturity levels to allow access to the Your Account page. If you want to make a profile kid-friendly by default, click the checkbox Kid? in the Manage Profiles section of your account."
To watch a movie or TV show that has a maturity level higher than the parental controls you have set on your profile, you will need to adjust the controls on that profile to include that maturity level.

Set A Pin For Your Netflix Account
