NanoTech the developer of the new UltraFlix 4K Roku channels made a deal with Paramount Movie Studios this last summer. It will give them access to over 950 movies in 4K UHD from the Paramount Pictures library.

Some of the titles included are Transformers, Minority Report, World War Z, the Hunt for Red October and a large library of other well known and top rated movies.

Along with Paramount they also signed deals to carry 4K movies from Warner Bros, A&E and History channels.

Nanotech Claims they have “virtually lossless” 4K ultra HD video at approximately 5Mbps". With some broadband providers now rolling out data caps to try and stem the tide of cable cutters. This is some really good news since typical internet connection speeds needed to watch 4K content are 15 to 20 Mbps.

Other top 4K providers on Roku are Amazon and Netflix which both use much more bandwidth to stream a 4K UHD movie.

The UltraFlix 4K channel is now one of the largest provides of legal 4K content and will be a welcomed addition to the Roku media streaming platform. Hopefully this will be only the beginning of many more full 4K channels to come.
