Roku is Today's Hottest Selling Streamer

New 2016 Roku Streamers Are Here and they Rock!

Entry Model Roku Express

The new Roku Express only costs $30 and they even give you a remote control. While it was designed to steal away sales from Google's Chromecast which does not come with a remote, and it won't have access to over 3500+ channels that are all available on the Roku platform. The Roku Express also gives streamers on a tight budget a lower-cost alternative and a way to access the awesome Roku media streaming platform.

While the Roku Express does not have Ethernet, and it will only work if your television has an HDMI port. The Roku Express should be a great seller for Roku because it has the same level of performance as their $50 Roku Streaming Stick.

Roku

Its form factor is unusual looking for a streamer. Kind of like blending a streaming stick and a Roku 3 together. It also sets the stage for their next least expensive model the Roku Express+

New Roku Express+

The new Roku Express+ is very similar to the Roku Express in appearance except they added Analog Video outputs to make it work on older TVs that don't have HDMI Inputs. The Express+ costs $10 more than the Express which makes it only $5 more expensive than a Chromecast.

Roku Premiere

Stepping up in price and features, the new Roku Premier will give you access to 4K streaming at the same level of performance as last year's more expensive Roku 4. The remote is missing a few features and only works with IR. This is now Roku's lowest cost 4K box and it only costs $80. Missing from the remote is both gaming and voice search and the Roku Premiere is not capable of HDR which is something new TV's use for a higher contrast picture.

New Roku Premiere+

For another $20 you get the Roku Premiere+ which also adds HDR to the mix. HDR requires a specially enabled 4K TV to bring you a nicer 4K picture with more brightness and contrast. It is also the first Roku model to add in an Ethernet port. Ethernet is highly recommended for the better streaming performance over WiFi and reduced buffering. The remote also offers a headphone jack for private listening and is radio controlled instead of IR so you don't need to point it directly at your Roku.

Top of the Line Roku Ultra

The Roku Ultra at $129.99 is the most expensive Roku of the group. It comes fully loaded with all the bells and whistles. 4K HDR, Ethernet, Gaming Radio Controlled Remote, Voice Search and a Headphone Jack, Lost Remote Finder plus a USB port not found on the other models. Unlike last year's Roku 4 this model or any other Roku no longer has a fan. This is big plus since the fan last year caused some issues early on when early customers complained about loud fan noise which Roku promptly fixed.

All 4K models Roku models will now have the same CPU which is even more powerful than last years Roku 4. The new 4K Roku models can stream 4K/60Hz for beautiful smooth picture.

The Roku Ultra also now comes in a smaller case of 4.9 x 4.9 x 0.85 inches compared to last year's Roku 4 at 6.5 x 6.5 x 0.8 inches.

Roku also still sells a newer $49 Quad-core Roku Streaming Stick which was also released earlier. Roku models will all soon feature a brand new updated OS. It will come with some great new features that will also be pushed out to older Roku models as an update later this year.
