Verizon 5G Service to Arrive by October 1

Verizon 5G Service to Arrive by October 1

A brand new 5G home-broadband service from Version is slated to launch on Oct. 1

This is the first commercial 5G of what will be sure to be more to come giving streamers and cord cutters another option to choose from when it comes to broadband Internet.

In a statement released by the company.

“Verizon 5G Home customers should expect typical network speeds around 300 Mbps and, depending on location, peak speeds of nearly 1 Gig, with no data caps,”  “Verizon 5G Home is ideal for consumers looking to ‘cut the cord’ or upgrade from their current cable service.”

Verizon 5G Service to Arrive by October 15G is the next building block for faster wireless networks and the successor to 4G or LTE. Verizon has been busy putting the necessary equipment to build their new 5G Home service for some time now.

While this is technically not considered true 5G, their Home service is the first step towards that goal.

Initially, only four cities: Houston, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, and Sacramento will be able to use their new Verizon 5G Home broadband service.

Verizon on Thursday, Sept. 13 began signing up customers for its 5G broadband service. To sweeten the deal and get people to sign up they are offering perks like free installation, three months 5G for free plus either a Chromecast or Apple TV 4K. Also, you can get three months of free YouTube TV included as well.

If you are a current Verizon customer, it will cost $50 a month for the service. New customers will get charged $70 a month and there are no additional hardware fees to pay.

So while technically this is not yet true 5G, the company said they are moving forward with their own 5G Home using their own while the official 5G standard is still being worked out in the rest of the industry.
