Roku Has Dropped The Price on the Streaming Stick
The Roku Streaming Stick has been out now for a year and a half and is still a very popular seller.
The Streaming Stick features the same powerful Quad Core processor as the Roku Premiere, and comes with a WiFi point anywhere remote
According to sources at CNET.com who asked Roku if a new Streaming Stick was on the way, Roku refused to comment.
We can still speculate a little. Roku last year before the Holidays released all new hardware except for the Streaming Stick. Hopefully, we may see a new one before the end of the year along with some other new Roku models as well.
It's not like their current hardware can't keep up, but their software is changing and developers have been given until Jan 2019 to modify their current Roku channels so it meets their new Software Development Kit (SDK).
Roku's new lower price on the Streaming Stick is now $40 which is $10 dollars less from the prior price of $50. This will be a permanent price cut and it helps put it closer in line with another very popular Streaming Stick the Amazon Fire TV Stick that also is $40.
The Roku Streaming Stick is a great device if you have your TV mounted to the wall and want to look at additional wires going to a standalone streamer. It plugs directly into your TV's HDMI port.
The Roku Streaming Stick is also a top seller on Amazon with almost full 5 star reviews and 1000 asked questions.
If you want a budget streamer that is still plenty fast, the Roku Steaming Stick is a better option than many other low budget streamers out there.
